Nissan IDS Concept

Last Updated:

If you tone it down just bit. Add door handles. Get rid of the blue trim.
It does look like it could be the next Leaf. (It probably is)

This and the rumored “over 200 miles range” would be quite an improvement. And would sure make the next Leaf even more popular.
As for the interior, it’s still way too crazy. As the concept is meant to drive itself .
( a nightmare if you ask me…)

  1. yes you r correct this is a representation of our next leaf. it will get around 215 miles per charge and will be the same price as current leaf

  2. Yikes! Another floating roof/blacked out C-pillar treatment. I hope this design element doesn't eventually spread to Nissan's entire lineup. Maybe they will limit it to "specialty" models like the Maxima, Murano, and Leaf and leave it off the mainstream models (Versa, Sentra, Altima, Rogue, and Pathfinder). I know it's supposed to be visually interesting and different, but I think it's simply ugly.

  3. love this car, hate the name, reminds me of IBS ( Irritable Bowel Syndrome) Think people….Think!

  4. I'm going to give some credit to Nissan. I always hated their cars – dull and behind the curve. I'm not certain that I'm really into this design chance but its a move in a very visually interesting direction that has been completely absent from most lineups (regardless of maker) for a real long time. Only Lexus has taken on a major effort to visually distinguish themselves. Maybe Acura and Honda will follow.

Ok, so about this car. The new Nissan "look" actually seems to work better on its smaller cars. I hope it doesn't get too watered down – it certainly didn't on the Maxima or their big SUV. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this isn't just the Leaf, but they'll also offer an efficient gasoline engine option in it as well. The US needs some decently designed hatches – Mazda's done a great job with theirs (the 3 is just too small for a lot of people).

  5. Hey NB up in the frozen hinterlands, where do Nissan's stylists live, on Mars? Unlike the timeless classy understated styling of VW, these Nissan styles will soon seem as silly as the fins of the late 50's!
    OK Chris
