Ford Troller

Last Updated:

Troller is a Brazilian brand that was bought by Ford back in 2007.
In 2012 they showed a really interesting concept called the Troller TR-X Concept 4.
(Which looked much better than previous “non Ford” Troller models. )

Now we have these pictures from Brazil showing the production version.
Which looks very similar to the concept. It is based on a shortened version of the  Australian Ranger pick up. (The one we really should be getting over here…)

This is the concept from 2012.
Pretty much the same thing…

I think it looks really cool. It could, and should be offered in the US as an alternative to the Jeep Wrangler.
Just call it Bronco over here. Offer a nice Ecoboost engine and a Diesel.

What do you think???

  1. Give it a real frame, a decent roll-cage, keep the price down, and make it safe and I would have a hard time saying no to it.

  2. It looks cool, but it suffers from FJ Cruiser "fat pig" syndrome. Lots of people will think they want it, until they realize they can't see out of it, can't drive it in a packed parking lot, can't go off road unless the trail is 10 feet wide, can't get any passenger over 60 to climb in without a step stool.

What really works with the Wrangler is that it's practical enough to use every day in its base form. Those that need "male enhancement" buy lift kits and tractor tires, but that's only a small percentage of the market.

  3. It would be great for Ford to have one truck-like SUV in its stable. It should be the next Bronco and compete with the Wrangler.

  4. I love the idea of a classic Bronco. I've been looking at buying a '68.

Is the roof removable? Needs to be.
