Fiat 500X

The X is an SUV looking version of the 500.
And just like the 500L, this is not really a true Fiat 500.
It is based on a different, larger platform. All it gets from the 500 is that front end with the round headlights.

But, this one could be interesting.
As I do like the idea of a larger 500 like the L. I think the L's proportions are quite ungainly in real life. It's trying too hard. Wheels to small etc...

This already looks much better. And also could prove quite popular in our market.
It looks ready to me.
I guess they will show it at the Geneva Auto Show very soon.

Here, it will compete mostly with the Nissan Juke and Buick Encore.
At prices comparable to the Juke.

I think the 500L is tanking in the US because it's ugly, and nobody trusts the brand yet. It's doing OK in Europe, but Fiat is a known commodity there.
You can't expect customers to make two big leaps at the same time: ugly car, unknown brand. The 500 worked because it's a really nice package.

This one should do fine here. It looks good. I'll bet Fiat dealers can't wait for it to show up.

It's an abomination like the 500L. I have a 500 Turbo for fun driving and tried the 500L last summer. What a butt-ugly design-disaster it is. Trying to capitalize on the Topolino/500 name by selling shitty cars that are in no way 500's. It's a rip-off.

I can see this going head-to-head with the Countryman.
