2014 VW Polo

Last Updated:

The current generation is almost 5 years old. And VW has decided to offer a few changes for 2014, not an all new car.
The current car still looks really good, and the new front and slightly revised interior might just do fine for the next couple of years.

Someone at VW US had mentioned last year that we would be getting the “next one” here.
This year’s changes mean an all new Polo is now at least 2 years away…

This is the current model. As you can see, not much is new for 2014.
A pretty lazy job after 5 years…

  1. The Polo is still selling very well. A seven year cycle with cosmetic updates isn't unusual for German brands.

  2. I agree that it is a really nice looking car, no matter how old.
I cannot imagine why VW isn't selling this here, right now. With all their big talk about being such a major player in the US.

  3. It would wipe the floor with Versa and the bucket full of water would be the Mirage. The rest…not so sure, but I think it's the perfect car for those that have to have a VW at all costs and don't want to spend $20,000 on a Beetle to do it.

  4. VW traditionally upgrade engines mid-cycle rather than with new models. This refreshed Polo has all-new powertrains, which will probably be used the next Polo.

  5. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Polo. I just wish that VW weren't a bunch of idiots and would learn to make small changes (not the same as decontenting or softening) in their products for American tastes. Things like…interiors that dont look like dungeons of blackness.
