2015 Kia Sedona

This is the "official" rendering from Kia. Showing us how cool and different the all new Sedona minivan will be. Looking more like an oversized Kia Soul than a regular boring minivan.

Finally someone is trying something new.

Or are they?

These are spy shots of the actual thing. As you can see, it doesn't look at all like the rendering. Only the rear side window, the camouflaged part, could be similar. But everything else seems like another car.
The A pillar is 100% different. The windshield, the little extra window in front of the rear view mirror, etc...

So which is it, which one is the next Sedona, the rendering or the spy shots?

Looks just like the old Sedona to me. Hardly think the wrapper is necessary.

Looks like the realities of production (meaning how much could be visually altered to allow for a Hyundai clone) took precedent over the Soul-like styling of the concept.

They should have gone more with the rendering....nothing is stopping them as there have shown "conservative" to the door. What interesting is the roofline/slope reminds me of the 2006-current one. The solidness of the shape reminds me of Grand Caravan/Town & Country. I don't think we'll be disappointed. What I don't understand is how they let the Entourage fall by the wayside. I guess they figured they should still have some brand-unique models.

This is an old story: the rendering is the original concept which was rejected by Peter Scheyer at the final stage of proposal to have the A-pillar redesigned to be more cab-forward. This caused the original project plan to be delayed by an extra year.
