2015 Hyundai Sonata

At first, it looks like a slightly modified version of the current one.
With chrome around the windows.

But that front end is very different. Very much like the next Genesis.
And, the current model came out in 2009. So in about a year, it'll be time for an all new one. Not just a small refresh.

No matter what, it looks like another good looking mid sized sedan coming our way.

It came out in 2010 in the US.

So is this going to separate cycles from the Optima? Sonata was in the Spring 2011 and Optima was in the fall of 2011. The 2014 Optima Got refreshed (I'm assuming for two years)...with a new model for 2016. But the Sonata is jumping ahead a little but with the current model the same for model years. Interesting. This is what Honda does for the Accord and TL these days, so I guess it makes sense.

The 2011 Sonata came out in very early 2010, and Optima came out almost a year later, so it would follow that a new one would probably be due in 2015-2016. Perhaps Hyundai is jumping their full model change forward by a year because Sonata never really had a mid-cycle refresh? The way they have been juggling platforms lately (slipping the new Santa Fe platform underneath the existing Sorento without changing the body, for instance) perhaps they just decided to bring out the new body along with an updated platform ASAP. I wouldn't be surprised.. HyunKia seems to be very interested in remaining extremely competitive.
