2013 Nissan Altima

Last Updated:

Another small teaser.
And it still looks like a cross between the current model, the Maxima and the Versa.

We will be seeing much more of this really soon.

  1. OMG wow, that is so sleek and pretty, jewel like. I really think, from what i can see, this will be a winner!

  2. There are tons of pictures of the Altima all over the web. It's a predictable and uninteresting visual design that won't break any new ground. But it will continue to be a good seller because it's cheap.

  3. "….. But it will continue to be a good seller because it's cheap."

Wrong! It has great reviews, a potent 4, and a killer V6. However the CVT is a minus in my book.

All the same person. The same "Nissan is a great piece of kit" sales person. Are you going to buy a fleet of them for your ___insert business here___ and lie about that too?

The new Altima was ripped apart by everyone on another major blog, in an article that had over 100 responses.

Nissans are worthless vehicles that get sold mostly to fleet. Their residuals are worse than both Honda and Toyota.

That four cylinder QR25 is a piece of garbage. Butterfly valve screws that loosen and go into the combustion chamber wreaking havoc. The precats that self-destruct and get injested into the engine causing catastrophic failure. Premature CVT failure with replacements costing north of $7,000. Some of the lowest owner satisfaction ratings in each of their respective segments.

Yeah, Nissans are such GREAT cars!

  5. if you havent driven nissan's CVT, now considered the world's best cvt and admitted by many auto editors as better than conventional autos, you don't know what end is up. Nissan's CVT is refined , ultra smooth, silent, shiftless, highly efficient and very very responsive. Drive one today, it's not yesterday's cvt.

  6. I agree with above poster, the CVT is shockingly good. I say shockingly becaus I didn't like them a few years ago. I have driven an Altima, murano and sentra in the past year and was stunned at how good they are. Nissan seems to be the only company so focussed on the cvt and it seems to have paid off. I would agree that it makes a regular transmission seem dated and even antiquated.

What are you smoking? When you read positive comments instead of your garbage feedback , you are assuming the same person makes all of them?

  8. CVT is why I no longer buy new Maxima's. CVT is why two freind's of mine got rid of their Muranos…repairs. Ghosn and Renault are why I have not bought a Nissan since 2002.

Nissan is no what it used to be. The Versa-like c-pillar door design on this Altima makes me cringe.

On a positive note, I read the 6-speed manual will be offered on both 4's and V6 modelsod the new Altima. I would never buy the 2.5 four Nissan offers (read post above about butterfly screws etc…), but I would buy another 3.5 VQ 6-speed manual combo. My curiosity is up on this car.

You and your imaginary friends need to get a life and start creating something in your boring daily lives for a change than dumping on others. The Nissan CVT is the best in the market and all credible publications point to no problems. Personally, I would not buy a car with a CVT, because it is a personal preference, not because I am itching to dump on somebody.

  10. "The Nissan CVT is the best in the market and all credible publications point to no problems. "

Do you work for Nissan's PR department? Because why would you attempt to spin what is common knowledge to everyone who keeps up? Nissan's CVT has been reviewed as just marginal at best, and they are also known to be problematic for their owners. Perhaps the newest ones are better, but they do have a reputation that they have yet to shake off. It might be the "best on the market," but that's just because they're the best execution of a terrible idea.

  11. "Nissan's CVT has been reviewed as just marginal at best,"

Can you point any reviews indicating so? Here is one for you from Truthaboutcars.com

"Prior to the Maxima, I’d had no experience with Nissan’s variable CVT transmission in any form. I came away from this one impressed"

Oh yeah, here is one more from Edmunds on 2012 Maxima:

The Maxima's powertrain is a good one, with strong acceleration from the 3.5-liter V6. Even the CVT is a positive — something we can't say for a lot of CVTs we've driven — with good performance in automatic mode and an entertaining manual shift feature that allows you to run up and down through six simulated "gear ratios" for a sportier feel.

So, by all means, either get a life or learn something.

  12. Trying to convince others that nissans cvt is wonderful is like selling yesterdays news paper. Some Magazines and publications may say they are okay or test fine, but how long do they have them? Do they have them long enough where they need work done? Of course not. Go ask the other posters "imaginary" friends why they no longer have their Muranos, I'm sure they would give you nonimaginary answers you know are true, that you don't want to own up to. You need a life, or just need to get off being on Nissan's loser payroll.

  13. "…You need a life, or just need to get off being on Nissan's loser payroll."

Oh wait… blabbermouth, Consumer Reports show absolutely no transmission problems for either the Murano or MAXIMA for 3 years running now.

  14. I just figured out the animosity towards a great car company producing very high quality cars with the worlds best transmission. They are comments from competing company employees and customers. They are frustrated as to why their companies didn't invest in cvts and are now left in the dust.

  15. Poor , simple people, u r sooo dumb. The CVT by Nissan is among the most reliable, best performing in the world. Why else would the Altima be #1 in consumer reports in its class with the CVT for the past three years in a row, and the Murano, same story, same CVT transmission. BTW, do work for toyota?, if so, go hide somewhere, there is no company anywhere that should be more ashamed. Look up on google now, Anderson cooper toyota recalls. If you owned a Nissan, you would know better.

  16. LOL @ great car company & worlds best transmissions. Thanks, I needed a laugh today!

The person that posted the note above is indeed a fool!
