2013 Acura ILX

Last Updated:

Here is the 1st official look at the new Civic based Acura ILX sedan.
Pretty much the same car we saw a few weeks ago as a “concept”.
Except for the lowest part of the bumper.

Not sure yet if this is replacing the TSX, which seems larger since it is based on the Euro Accord.

  1. Loooove that new NSX, have you heard that Infiniti is showing a car in Geneva in March…..get this Mid engined, sexy, electric and gas plug in…wow. The world is finally moving forward. Maybe the Japanese can teach us all something here.

  2. That NSX thing looks comical with those lips stuck on the front. Kind of like Penelope Pitstop's car. I would NOT show up to a supercar festival with that.

  3. Going to be interesting to see where this car is going to be priced. I would assume a base model 2.0L without Navigation will start somewhere around $26,500.

  4. They're really milking this NSX concept, placing it at the front when the ugly duckling production cars are shuffled to the rear. They're all awful looking.

  5. NSX – looks good from the front wheels back. The word 'parrot' comes to mind. Terrible use of the bucktooth.

ILX – Nice but also somewhat underwhelming. Betting money its more Civic-like than other Civic-based Acuras of the past.

RDX – Kinda predictable in pics. Hope it looks better on the street in color.

Overall Acura… glad you're putting in an effort, but some of your choices aren't helping the brand. So much more Honda than Acura anymore.

  6. That reverse dip in the bumper if the ILX ruins the clean look of the car at the Detroit show. I guess Acura isn't finished until they muck it up.

Hahaha, that's a good one. We'll be lucky to get it starting at $46,500.

    Really smart.
This car needs to have a very good interior and come with at least everything that was standard on the TSX.
I’ve been trying to guess where Acura might price this car and I thought I would look at what Honda/Acura has done with other cars in it’s lineup that share platforms. A completely loaded Accord is $32,600 while a base TL is $35,605. Roughly, a 9% increase. Using this I would assume that a base 2.0L ILX without navi would be somewhere around $26,500, 9% over what a loaded Civic is priced. Honestly, much over 27K and Acura will have a hard time selling this car.
