2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Last Updated:

I was very impressed by the Genesis Coupe when I got to drive one for a week last year.
I though very few things were wrong with it. Focusing mainly in interior details.
But this revised version with a new interior seems to have fixed all of this.

Plus, the engines have also more power.
The 2.0 Liter is now rated at 274hp. While the V6 produces 348hp!
Both pretty amazing numbers.

An all new 8 speed auto is available with the larger engine.

Having driven it, I am a big fan of the car.
My loaded V6 tester was about $30 000. Thousands under the closest competition.
Good to see a great car getting even better.

  1. Great looking car. They fixed the main visual exterior issue, the economy car front end. The V6 with 348hp is sweet and is a viable (i.e."cheaper) alternative to the G37! I don't know why I don't see more of these on the road.

  2. Hideous. The "gaping" front end looks like a fat Korean laughing, which is probably what Hyundai executives are doing lately, with all the people who keep buying these hideous-design Hyundais.

  3. The Old front looked better, just needed a new grille insert. This now looks like an elantra up front. So, should Nissan Make the front of their Z look like a Sentra??? NO! What a backwards design move Hyundai..

  4. I totally agree, Modo. Hyundai design may be on a roll, but it dropped the ball on this one. It just looks like a cheap import.

  5. The V6's bump up to 348 hp makes all the difference along with the torque @295 lb feet makes this Gen Coupe a formidable challenger.

It should be more than ready to go toe-to-toe with the likes of G37 Coupe and BMW 335i Coupe. Better yet, just for fun, it should be able to tag a Mustang or Camaro.

  6. This thing is freakin' incredible!

Vince, I almost bought a 2.0T Track but the only turnoff was the lackluster base engine. This fixes that problem, so I'll have to go test drive it when I get ready to sell my car.
