I was skeptical of the new front end design, but this actually looks pretty nice and aggressive.(More) Great work there Hyundai/Kia.
Not bad looking. But here it's the problem, you say serious competition for the G37 from a car that has the same face as the Accent. Is that really their target, which in fact will be competing then with the A5 and the 3 Series coupe. Let's not play pretend and compare it to what it really needs to be compared to.
Competition only in terms of performance. Much the same as GT500 and Corvette, only comparable in terms of performance.I really don't think Hyundai as a brand is aiming at Audi or BMW. They may say they do, but deep down they know that's not their customer base/market share.
i dont understand the niche either. without the supras of yesteryear, nothing really to compare too...as for the corporate face, i applaud hyundai for the best execution to date.
Nice dopey grin. Instead of making the car more aggressive looking, Hyundai made it more happy looking.
Hey, everyone, how about comparing it to the V6 Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger, like Motor Trend did? I'd also add the 370Z. Even the CTS coupe. Get past price, prejudice, and brand panache, there's a lot to compare it to.
Looks like the Accent? I now know my theory was right. With them wanting the Veloster to be a "halo car in reverse" drawing first time buyers into the brand and keep them there, I don't think that it's a bad thing for it to have a sportier version of the "family face." The funny thing is that the Sonata is now a departure from the family resemblance and closer to the Genesis and Equus in looks.
I think it's fair to compare to the Mustang, Camaro and the Z and probably the Toyota FT/BRZ/FRS when it comes out...I don't mind the new face, but seeing as Hyundai has a different look on the upper modes (Genesis Sedan, Equus) and they report combined sales of both genesis models only, I think that this new look brings it down a notch in terms of upper brand recognition
Hyundai is reporting this is a fake photoshop. You can see it where the front bumper meets the fender. Funny thing is it looks better than the previous spy shots of the one with the more upright Elantra front end.
Don't make the Genesis Coupe look like a Veloster up front...please...NO!!
Okay.I think this looks great. The previous version looked nice but anonymous. This thing now has presence. And yes, the first picture is Photoshopped, but it's a pretty accurate representation of what the car looks like.
