2013 Cadillac XTS

I haven't seen it in person yet, but this new Cadillac does look pretty modern and impressive to me.
And I don't think FWD or AWD is a problem for most people who will consider this car.
The XTS is not intended to compete with BMW.

They could have offered a bit more than 300hp with the 3.6 Liter V6 though.

Here are some of the highlights:

-Advanced Haldex all-wheel-drive system with electronically controlled limited-slip differential
-Magnetic Ride Control, rear air suspension, HiPer Strut front suspension and Brembo brakes - all standard
-Standard 19-inch wheels and available 20-inch wheels
-Direct-injected 3.6L V-6 with lightweight features, including integrated cylinder heads/exhaust manifolds
-Capless fuel tank filler for easier, cleaner refueling
-Folding rear-seat headrests that enhance rear visibility
-Safety Alert Seat that vibrates to alert the driver
-Intervening braking system that lessens or avoids potential collisions
-Short- and long-range radar systems that support:
-Adaptive Cruise Control
-Front and Rear Automatic Brakes
-Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Very nice and like this a lot. Caddy has got a hit with the XTS!

I like the front end design and the interior. Not sure about the rear tail lamps and deck which look too conventional. What's with the FWD comments? I thought that it would only be available as AWD. Now if Caddy would do something completely badass, and offer a V-series. I'm not sure that would make any sense, but neither does a CTS-V wagon. And that's why it would be awesome!

The 2013 Cadillac XTS Platinum made a surpise
Northern California debut here in my hometown
at San Francisco's International Auto Show. The XTS on display is soft gold with a black accented grille.
As this new Cadillac revolved on the platform, 3 things stood out for me.
1 - Side profile looks better/richer in in person.
2 - Cadillac kept shorter Buick Lacrosse's 111.7 wheelbase and 72 in width to save money. This makes the longer XTS appear narrow, with a much too stubby hood.
3. The black grille looked really out of place.

XTS is simply an updated placeholder to attract DTS buyers and rationalize production at the Oshawa plant.

A nice car that should be a 50-55K Buick, but not a 60K Cadillac.
