More pictures and specs of the 2012 Toyota Camry

Last Updated:

This time the silver car does look like the SE model.

Just like the designs, specs are very similar to the outgoing model.

The 2.5 Liter engine produces 179hp in the SE , 169hp in other versions.

The 3.5 Liter V6 is rated at 268hp

And the Hybrid now uses the 2.5 Liter engine and gets a small bump at 187hp.

Toyota seems to claim that the Hybrid version uses up to 39% less gas in City driving. That would bring city MPG to about 43.

Which would be quite an improvement.

We’ll see….

  1. Another Japanese car with a 90's boombox interior. The mix of plastics, colors, shapes and angles on the dashboard is very unsettling. What ever happened to clean and simple?

  2. I mean overall Toyota could have done allot worse. The headlights so look similar to the tsx and the euro version of the Honda civic. The interior isnt that much different except for roughly squaring everything off

  3. zzzzzzzzzzzzz………..how much longer can toyota get away with such, well, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………..

  4. Okay.

And for (at least) the 3rd generation in a row, we all let out a collective, disappointed *sigh*. Toyota always promises some bold, new design. And then they give us a new Camry.

Yeah, it will sell. But they are fast circling the drain in design and innovation, just like their Honda compatriots…

  5. It looks like this is it. This looks so disappointingly ordinary.

I for one was hoping for trendsetting design.

Toyota, now more less than ordinary.

  6. That silver Camry has wheel covers which makes it NOT an SE model.

You should know better, Vince, having an automotive website and all….

  7. The only positive thing I can say about the design is that it doesn't look like it's melting, as the current model does. Otherwise, what a missed opportunity!

  8. I would really love to understand Toyota's reasoning behind this car. It just seems so outdated when the competition is gaining ground rapidly. This is a Homermobile for accountants. I know it must be deliberate, but still.
