2012 Honda CRV

Last Updated:

it seems that Honda could show a Concept version of the CRV first.
Just like they did with the Civic and others. Where, what they call a concept, is really just the production car with slightly larger wheel and some accessories.
No one knows why they even bother doing that. Over and over….

No matter what, this will be quite a good looking CRV.
Let’s hope the interior follows the exterior with more style as well.
Engine is supposed to be the same 2.4 Liter with a little bit more power.
Which if just fine for the CRV.

  1. Exactly right.

    Dear Honda:
Is this some kind of joke?
    2012 crv concept?
    Are you serious?
When is this coming out? In 2013?

  2. I think it looks fantastic. Without a doubt this will be another best seller. The current CR-V has been America's best selling SUV for going on six years, and it is one of China's best selling CUVs as well.

Vince, I'd much rather have Honda's version of a concept than anyone elses. At least it is 95% accurate of what the production version will look like versus others showing something that looks NOTHING like the concept when it hits production. I don't get what your issue is with that method, it is a pretty stupid complaint if you ask me.

    @ hyns

How is this a joke? It will be a MY2012 vehicle.

Is it that hard of a concept to understand?

  3. For a vehicle that has gone downhill aesthetically since the first generation, this is a real pleasant surprise. Even if the tail end looks like the Volvo xc60 it's better than Honda attempting something unique. Their track record has not been impressive of late.

  4. Yes thank heavens honda decided to copy someone else , they certainly were not getting it done on their own. Having said that this is no Volvo, the front looks attached onto a volvo back, very odd in some respects.

  5. Based on this photo, the CR-V is uglier than the current one. The front end looks like it was ripped off of the Crosstour and applied to look like a CR-V; not to mention, it looks the size of the Pilot. Whatever happened to the small sized SUV/CUVs of the 90s?

  6. designcritic.. I agree 1000%!!! But if the production CR-V is this sporty and aggressive, I can only imagine what they are going to do with the RDX?

You have no clue of what you are talking about, at ALL.

Please teach me your amazing ability of how to judge the size of a vehicle with no frame of reference.

Also, the G3 (current generation) CR-V is actually SMALLER than the first generation.

Again, you have no clue of what you are talking about.
