More pictures of the Fiat Freemont

Which is just a Dodge Journey with a new front end.
Mostly.

But it is kind of fun to see a Dodge interior with a Fiat logo, and a stick shift. Who would have though just a few years ago.

It would be nice if they could find a way to sell the diesel version over here. Could be good competition to the VW Jetta Wagon TDI.

On related news, I hear the Fiat diesel in the Jeep Grand Cherokee, already offered in Europe, has great chances to be an option in the US soon.
It is getting good reviews in Europe so far…

  1. This car is a big success in Portugal (south of europe) as a Dodge. Must be the because of price. No others Dodges around.

  2. I wanted to hate it, but the Journey is actually a good little car, truck thingy. But it looks good. I dislike re-badging a vehicle for a marketplace that also sells Dodge. But maybe then we'll get a Dodge Ferrari combo at some point!

  3. We get the Fiat 500 and they get this? We got the better end of the deal. I can't imagine Italians liking this too much.

  4. Fiat's too dumb to know rebadging without redesigning the exterior panels (in the least) is a bad idea.

  5. Fiat better be very very careful here. If you put any chrysler product of any kind near a maserati, it's over. All those years building the brand to it's high stature today, would be gone in a day. You hear me Sergio?

  6. Fiat better be very very careful here… you mean like Chrysler's TC by Maserati? Or like all the Maserati's that ran with the world's fastest & best-engineered tranmission? (the Chrysler TorqueFlight)

30 years later and they're both still here–Maserati & Chrysler!

  7. Yeah…Because all 3058 people who want a diesel won't buy it anyway…Specially when they discover they have to fill a urea bag on the thing.

The urea-thing is a Mercedes problem. Only chrysler products with Mercedes Engines have that flaw. You won't see that with Fiat or Cummings sourced diesels or turboDiesels in Chryslers.
