Jaguar B99 Concept by Bertone

Last Updated:

This Italian designed concept is a smaller car than the XF. By about 18 inches.
Which seems strange. It does look quite large on these pictures.

Somehow, it seems to achieve the presence of a larger car.
Which is exactly what a small Jaguar should do.

Although this seems to be a complete departure from their current “new” designs, it does look much more like a Jaguar than the XF.
A little bit retro.

But I don’t think they’ll end up using Bertone’s ideas in their final design…

Too bad…

  1. now that's what a Jag has to look like. forget all that garbage they have come out with. It always takes the Italians eye to properly design anything.

  2. I'm in love too…this car has everything good design needs. Clear, without any fancy new age overdesigned pseudo baroque-style cues, implicating a retrospective yet contemporary touch…simply perfect. Especially for a Jag

  3. This car hearkens back to the XJC Coupe of the mid-70's one of the most beautiful designs Jag ever made.

This won't fly because Jag wants its designs to mirror the competition. Not much difference between the new XF and XJ and an Audi. The XF C-piller probably exists on a dozen cars.

  4. Best looking Jag to date! It reminds me of the previous XJ in a GOOD way.

Too bad the real thing will look like a miss match of the XF and XJ. Too bad…

  5. This is exactly what the xj should have looked like. I am a fan of the current xj as a car, but as a jaguar, a British sedan this is what it should have been. Retro futuristic. Almost paying homage to the jaguars of the 80's an early 90's. Those cars looked solid though were plagued with reliabilty issues that most likely wouldn be much of an issue now. Also they kept the jaguar leaper on the hook which to me was always beautiful. I mean what would a rolls be w out the spirit of extacy on the grille. Hopefully this design makes it somewhere.

If that's smaller than the XF then it can't have ANY headroom!!
Is it only a 2 seater? – if not then it has no rear legroom either.
(that's why the proportions look like a larger car)

Vince, you think it looks like a (OLD) Jag
but it does NOT look like "the NEW Jaguar".
This looks 30+ years out-of-date already.

I don't think they'll end up using Bertone's ideas in their final design EITHER…
    THANK GOD!!!

  7. What a beautiful design! Wouldn't it be great if this concept car signaled the death of grotesque, oversized headlamp assemblies that stretch half-way back to the 'A' pillar?

  8. Beautiful design ! but why does it remind me of the old Buick Reatta ? Does anyone else see any resemblence ?
