2012 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback.

Last Updated:

These are the 1st pictures of the real thing.
Still, not for us.

Unless we beg.

I test drove the Cruze sedan a while ago and really liked it. I think offering the hatchback version in the US could only make things better for Chevrolet.
Competing with the Mazda3, 2012 Focus and upcoming Elantra5.

  1. BIG mistake indeed! We shouldn't have to beg for this. There are too many great choices….but this would still be great competition to keep the rest on their toes and in front of the pack.

  2. Not sure GM is doing any favors by making this "hatch" available. Generally hatchbacks are more practical by virtue of the taller trunk area. However, on this particular model, the fifth door is so steeply raked that I don't imagine that it nets much more cargo area than the sedan.

This just looks like someone lopped off 8 inches of the sedan and called it a day.

  3. can you please stop taking pictures from other peoples sites! This photo and the Kia photo are from another site you happen to post them the same day.

Should we remove your watermarks and post them on our sites? I can easily do that with photoshop.

    Thank you

  4. To be honest, I don't know why you keep saying that things would be better for Chevrolet if they bring this to the US. Take a look at the Lancer Sportback…same formula, but I rarely see them on the road compare to the sedan.

  5. I don't know what all the hype is over the Cruze. To me it looks like a warmed over Cobalt every time I see it.

    I couldn't agree more.

I wouldn't beg for this, it is ugly and the powertrains are weak.

    Welcolme back douchebag jones.
    You like rebadged Daewoos?

  8. I'm going to just call this one "design challenged." The rear end looks very third world. Not sure why they'd make it so dull.

  9. I don't think it looks too bad. I wonder what the reasoning is though for not bringing the hatchback Chevrolet Cruze to the U.S? It looks like it has the potential to sell. with tiny cars like Fiat I can see it being a harder sell but this one looks like it would do ok here as well as overseas…
