2012 Hyundai Azera

Last Updated:

The all new Azera seems to already have much more style than the rather boring Genesis sedan.

And quite a serious competition to established cars like the Buick Lacrosse, Nissan Maxima and Ford Taurus.

We will see much more really soon, so stay tuned…

  1. I really think this new Azera looks so much better than the one it is replacing.

Now, just waiting to see the interior which has to be outstanding to compete in the class that Hyundai intends go up against.

  2. I have yet to own a Hyundai, but have absolutely no problem stating that they currently have the best looking car lineup of any manufacturer (regardless of price).

  3. Absolutely gorgeous inside and out! I love that chrome line which connects the beltline and the front grill along the headlight top.

  4. I was at the Sf auto show and I must say, the new Sonata and Elantra are so much better looking than the comparable Toyotas and Hondas. I have no doubt that this new Azera will be a very nice looking, well made machine. As for the Buick Lacrosse that I sat in at the show, GM really needs a new game plan. Perhaps GM should recruit some Hyundai/Kia designers!

  5. Torrey, what didn't you like about the LaCrosse? I found it's interior to be very inviting and creative fo its class. It's exterior is mild but attractive. What are your opinions?

  6. Looks like a mix of a Sonata and Genesis. Also what is with that deformed C-pillar?

Also not of a fan of the strange rear fender character lines, or the weird front bumper lines.

Yet another Korean design with goofy character lines going in all directions and odd proportions.

I would gladly take a Buick or Ford Taurus over this thing.

  7. Personally, while a huge improvement over the current car, I'm growing a little tired of Hyundai's current melted look while the front looks like it has been in an accident. Still, Kudo's to Hyundai for improving their entire line up so drastically.

  8. Looks much better than the old one, but very similar to the bland Infiniti M. The LaCrosse and the Taurus look better, but I could see this as being competitive.

  9. My mother just bought a Hyundai Sonata Limited. The car is awesome inside and out. I only wish she could've waited for this. I have to agree with another poster… The Hyundai lineup is one of the best looking car lineups out. When the new Elantra, Accent, and Azera come out… WOW! I can't wait to see what the new Sante Fe is going to look like. Go Hyundai!

  10. i rented the new sonata on holidays and it was nice looking, but cheap materials inside and noisy. if they keep focussing on these big cars, they are reopening the door for the japanese to take back the small car, which they have started doing again!

  11. Please, the materials inside the Sonata are much like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, par for the course. I drove the 2011 Sonata and the thing is as quiet as anything in the class.

  12. Big improvement; but not in the league of LaCross. A direct competitor to Malibu, however. Malibu interior is quite similar so it will come down to 2 things: 1) PRICE & 2)Whether you prefer Malibu's "formal" rear door glass -OR- Hyundai's "sportier" rear door/roofline.
