New Honda non car/non SUV thingy…

Last Updated:

This is basically a hatch version of the Accord on stilts.
I guess this would share the platform with the new Acura model coming out at the end of the year.

Why not just offer a hatch version of the Accord, with an AWD option?

  1. If it doesn’t look to fat it might be cool, but I dont want AWD or an Acura with a stupid grill. I’d consider it as a Honda.

  2. They probably gave it a higher ride height because a lot of people feel safer if they are up higher. It reminds me of the Dodge Avenger concept from a few years ago with a Lexus RX front end and a Honda grill. I am all for hatchbacks if they are like the Mazda6 hatchback, just not wagons.

  3. This looks like a bit of a shop to me. Did anyone else notice it has the same front bumper as the Acura RDX?

It should compete well with the Venza.

    I like it!

Bingo, with the abbreviated trunk lids on almost all cars these days, why not extend the hinges above the rear glass and be done with it.

  5. Of course you want stilts.
Ground clearance is the reason people are moving to Crossovers.

why would you want a wagon NOT on stilts?

Because it was decided long ago that Americans hate hatches if it’s not a douchey SUV/crossover.

  7. This new Honda/Acura will be less fuel-efficient than a car and less spacious than a SUV. What a concept!

    Common Honda!

  8. Come on folks, don’t any of you read anything but Burlapp’s page? The automotive press has been reporting on an AWD Accord wagon based vehicle for months.

Rumors are that it will be offered here in the states as a 2010. But the Car and Drive pics (and the hundreded of other ones floating around) look nothing like this.

  9. Foreigners do UGLY & Overpriced & Impractical well. RX, Venza, Murano, etc. Americans do impractical & gorgeous that looks "to good to be true" and therefore doesn't sell: Enclave, Journey, Flex, Pacifica. This Honda will sell: it's trendy, ugly, impractical (no good off road, but just as thirsty & cramped as a Jeep Wrangler — at only twice the price probably!

  10. Vince, I think you should take this down or at least note that it isn’t real.

It is obviously a really bad photoshop of an Acura RDX.

  11. Just another useless vehicle that screams “gimmicky”! But it’s a Honda, so it must be treated as the Second Coming.

  12. This a photoshopped RDX, like the poster on the 29th at 3:50pm said.

You people are dumb. This is NOT the new vehicle.

  13. the american bigger is better is old and embarassing. its like yes means no. its all in the past. smaller is better now, so you may have a chance.

  14. The next generation CR-V will closely resemble this new platform according to inside sources, as it will also be available as a hybrid as well. This aerodynamic design will be very familiar in the very near future due to this fact.

  15. Vince, Could this be what Honda big wigs have been hinting about for the past month, when it comes to their answer of what the next generation mini-van will look like? We could be looking at hints of the future Odyssey either for the states or Japan.

  16. How many more will ignore the multiple warnings of PHOTOCHOP and continue posting uselss comments?

Pictures are already out of the new Accord Wagon/Crossover, has lines much more in keeping with the Auro Accord wagon.

  17. The pictures you are referring to of the Euro Accord wagon with a US Accord front end are test mules.
    Not the final design.
