More and better pictures of the Honda City

Last Updated:

This one seems to be for the European market.
It seems that, so far, Honda has no intention to bring this car over to the US.
But remember, that’s what they used to say about the Fit….

  1. I hadn’t noticed before, but there is a lot of FCX Clarity in the greenhouse profile. This is a smart looking car that would do well here in the US.

  2. I like the City much better than the Civic, I assume the City is smaller, but the Civic was probably the same size at one time; so the City would be a great replacement for the U.S. Civic, if not in between the Fit and Civic. I just don’t understand why they keep chopping off the length of the trunk, that’s the only thing I don’t like about the Civic and the City; looks like they rushed the Civic and say oh well to the trunk.

  3. I like the exterior of this car. But the interior is just SOOOO Korean-bland looking. It seems that Hyundai, Toyota, Mercedes and Honda have run out of good ideas. Don’t even get me started on Chrysler interiors. At least Ford GM BMW and Audi show that some effort is applied to their designs, if not always successful. Look at how great the Mini, all new Volvos and new Jaguars look. The Euro Fords are miles ahead of this. Even for under $25k, the design of new cars should be thoughtful and forward thinking. This isn’t. It’s frutrating, especially for Honda which is supposed to be an out-of-the-box-thinking brand.

I know I’m taking this way too personally. I need to switch to decaf.

  4. They won’t bring the Honda City to the US. Only a few select European countries will get this car (not Western Europe).

We will get the Honda Insight which is arguably better IMO (interior and milage and trunk space).

  5. I think this would be a good addition to Honda’s U.S. lineup. It’s a nice looking subcompact sedan (much better looking than the Yaris, Aveo, Accent, or Rio).

  6. with never ending market declines, I bet there are lots of folks in these United States who would go for an inexpensive reliable sedan from Honda. The Civic for 17 to 22 large ain’t particularly cheap. If they don’t bring the City I guess I’ll just prowl the lots for used Hondas. They never seem to wear out.

  7. I like it. But I was surprised to read that this would come to Europe. 12:24 confirmed my suspicions that it wouldn’t come to WESTERN Europe; we never seem get the sedan versions of small cars like this, only the hatches. I suppose they don’t sell well, though I cannot fathom why; especially bearing in mind that, given the constant size increase of cars, this one is probably the same size as (or maybe even larger than) sedans which would theoretically (but not in practice) be one step above it and that were very popular in Europe in the 90s, such as the Opel/Vauxhall Kadett/Astra sedan and the Ford Orion/Escort Sedan.

  8. …or they could just buy a Fit which is more
practical, better looking and has a better
interior than this model (which was designed
    for developping countries).

It is also a lot more expensive…
