Mitsubishi Lancer Hatchback

Last Updated:

Still called a concept. But you can tell this is pretty much the production model.
It is not nearly as cool looking as the concept they showed us a couple of years ago. But hey, it’s a hatch.
I think it looks a bit heavy in the back. Even though I love hatchbacks.

Not sure if this will make it to the US or not.
The only Lancers I’ve seen around here are either sitting on dealers lots, or rentals….

  1. It looks kind of nice, but people in this country
are programed to only love Honda, Toyota
and Nissan. It is kind of a shame to think that Mazda
Suzuki and Mitsubishi are frowned upon even though they have some good offerings.
-SX4 and Grand Vitara are great
    So is the Outlander
    and CX-5 and 9.

We’ll have to wait for what Mr. Contrary has to say about this, D. Bag Jones….

  2. i love hatchbacks, but this looks a little big in the behind, probably because the rear doors from the sedan are used here to cut tooling and redesign costs. mitsubishi is not doing well, and doesn’t seem to have the money to reinvest in keeping up with, much less getting ahead of the innovators.

  4. I think it looks pretty good, actually, although if the ricer-like spoiler is not there it will probably be more than a little bland in the butt. It needs a more crisp transition at the bas of the rear window where the pillar meets the taillights. I looked at Lancers and they are okay, but if you ask me the reason they are on dealer lots is due to their pricing (seems a little high compared to value/content) and their mileage is simply abysmal compared to everything else.

  5. A little junk in the trunk (and a ridiculous spoiler), but this is nice. If only Americans would see the practicality of a hatchback.

  6. Please make them stop!! I can’t take the pain! Who the f@#% is running Mitsu anyways? As if the company isn’t screwed enough, they go and f@#% up the single last good thing they have going for ’em; the only thing giving this sh$% F@#% of an excuse for a company any legitmacy at all. Ugh!
