This is supposed to run $4K more than a regular Passat. Which means that a loaded CC will definitely cross the $40K mark. And we all know how many people plop down 40 large for something that says “VW” on its nose.
I really don’t know what VW’s problem is. You’d think they’d have learned something from the Phaeton.
The current Passat isn’t moving too well stateside anyway. It is not particularly handsome, very pricey, and reliably questionable. VW should drop the current Passat here, introduce this as its replacement (it is a 4-door aside from any “coupe” newspeak), cut the pricing across the board by $2,500 at least, and maybe they gain some market. Otherwise they are wasting their time with this in the states.
The exterior of this car looks almost Japanese in styling. The interior is all German. Straight as a board dash and small control buttons. As stated by Ricardo, this thing should simply replace the current Passat. The only problem there is this thing has no companion wagon version… and hopefully never will.
“FLOP”….that’s a sound I’m getting used to hearing from VW.
Why would anyone get a VW at Audi prices? They need to cease this overlap!
