More Toyota Blade pictures

Again, this still might end up replacing our Matrix.
With a 2.4 Liter from the Camry.

Return of the 2002?

At least for the US market, some people are BMW are still thinking about using the "2002" name for the upcoming 1 series coupe and convertible.

Not sure if that many people here remember the old BMW model.
One thing is for sure, this small coupe will look great.

Evo X Hatch

I must admit, super fast compact cars aren't my cup of tea.

But this hatchback version of the upcoming Mitsubishi Evo X is much better looking than the new Subaru Impreza.
It looks like the US will get both the sedan and hatch versions of the Subaru.
Let's hope Mitsubishi does the same with the next Evo.

This hatch on the "regular" Lancer would be great too...

2009 Lexus GS V10?

Just like they just squeezed a V8 in the IS, Lexus is planning to offer a V10 verion of the next GS model.
(Illustration above)
This 450hp car would compete with the M5.

Lexus is trying very hard to be taken seriously in Europe. I guess going after BMW might be one way to do it....

Passion?

Or obsession???

More G37 pictures

2008 Impreza WRX

Still not great looking, but these are much better pictures.

Fire in the hills

Hollywood hills on fire.
Another weather report brought to you by your Hollywood friend, Vince Burlapp.

Infiniti EX interior

Pretty amazing.
And a glass roof!

Camry testing

All LE mdels.
New engine???

Audi R8 at $109 000 in the US!

And they will charge $9000 extra for the automatic!

That compares with $78 200 for an AWD Porsche 911. ( $88 400 for the more powerful Carrera C4S)
Or $110 000 for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

I would call this another case of too much self confidence from Audi/VW.

Most sports car people just dream of the 911. And the legend is over $30 000 less than the newcomer.
Even the super exotic, and very exclusive, Aston Martin is almost the same price.

Good luck...

Subaru Impreza

I guess more pictures won't make it look much better.
Seems like Fuji Industries doesn't really care about market share....

Dodge testing

But what???
New crossover based on the Magnum?
New engines???

L.A last week

Crazy weather...

Revised Optima for next year.

Already?!

Seems like the rear will be all new (On this picture at least, the lights look like the new Mondeo)
No pics of the front or interior yet...

Chevrolet Trax concept

Not sure what this is supposed to be.
Obviously small. Small car, crossover?
A preview of something to be produced? Or not?

I like the look. We'll see it it becomes anything....

Infiniti EX "Concept"

One of these "fake" concepts that is pretty much 99% similar to the upcoming production version.
In this case, a good thing.

I think it looks great.
But that's pretty much all I know.
This new Crossover is smaller and cheaper than the FX,to compete with the Acura RDX and the upcoming small RAV4 based Lexus. But I am not sure what it is based on.
I would guess it shares some stuff with the Nissan Rogue, so it would be FWD based.
Being an Infinity I would think it uses a V6, but which one?
They can't really use the same engine as the larger FX.
No sure if Nissan/Infiniti even has anoter V6...

More latter.

Fantastic 4 to drive a Dodge!

With a Hemi!
550 mph and 30 000 feet!

I have to say, I never saw the 1st film and I don't think I'll go see this one either.

But a flying car is a flying car....

Buick Lacrosse and Lucerne "Super"

I guess it just means more chrome, bigger grilles and more power.
Not sure if that will help save Buick.
The Enclave is a big move in the right direction, but this is not even necessary.
Pretty much a waste of GM's money, I think....

Another G37 picture...

New Hummer H2 interior

The new (and much better) interior also comes with an even larger 6.2 Liter engine.

No comments....

Toyota Auris 3 door

We might still get it here alongside the 2008 Corolla. (I've seen a couple testing in Hollywood a few months ago)

Or we'll get the "Blade" version of the 5 door to replace the Matrix.
Either way, it seems pretty nice, even if the design is quite uninspired...

2008 Subaru Impreza

This time it is the real thing!
Not that great but much better than all the illustrations I've seen of it.
The interior, at least on this picture, looks rather plain.

More very soon.

More Genesis pictures

Hyundai Genesis concept

Looks production ready to me.
Even a bit boring.

I guess price will still be the main advantage.

Mazda CX-5

The magazine Auto Express has this illustration of what a small Mazda SUV would look like.
This makes a lot of sense for the European Market where even the CX-7 is pretty big.

This looks to be based on the next Mazda 3 platform.
I think it would be great in the US too. Where "small" SUV/Crossovers have grown in size and price so much.
There is a market for something like this for under $20 000.

Improvements!

Look at the amazing difference between these 2 videos.

The 1st one is a crash test for the 2001 Ford Escape.
We can all agree it is pretty scary.
The 2nd one shows a similar test for the 2005 Escape.
With much better results.
As far as I know, the Escape didn't change much from 2001 to 2005, yet Ford has found a way to make the car much safer.

So the current, revised 2008 model should do even much better.
Great news most of us couldn't find out from a car salesman.
And good stuff to know if you're looking for a used Escape...

More small Lexus rumor

Again, words of a "smaller than IS" lexus.
Mostly for the European market as a BMW 1/Audi A3 series competitor.
Why not...

VW Passat R36 Commercial

Just a bit to the extreme of the corny side....

G37 Interior

Well, it's official. The new G37 isn't getting the cool interior from last year's concept.
Another dream shattered...

The regular sedan interior is very nice (a friend of mine just got a 2007 sedan and it is a great car).
But I was hoping for the "extra step".
