More pictures of the new BMW 1 Coupe

I think it looks great.
Conservative yet modern. Luxurious and powerful.
The interior seems also very nice.

Let’s just hope they price it right (much cheaper than the 3) in the US….

Convertible version coming up next.

  1. At least the 1 series has some muscles (in the form of fender flairs and clever crease-work down the sides).

The A3 is rather dull (considering that is the only 1 series competitor at this time in the US). The A3 is the only other compact luxury car offered in the states, seeing how mercedes chose not to send their B class stateside.

  2. I could do without all those Bangle-isms on the sides, but I can still see one of those in my driveway, unless they keep the prices too high.

  3. I agree with the poster above. It does look saggy, as if the car was melting.

I don’t like the exterior at all.

  5. I agree with you Vince on the interior. It is very nice. However I disagree with you on the exterior. It looks ok on the outside but it looks weird. Like the proportions are wrong or something. It should go like stink with the 6 sylinder though.

Lets see you design something much better.
    Stop complaining, geee.

I love it and I agree it should be much cheaper then the 3, but I am guessing $ 26k.
Just bring the 4 banger for us cheapos.

  7. hey vince or ne one else that would know, how big is this car supposed to be, civic/cobalt coupe size??

  9. The saggy middle is goofy (what would you expect from a self-lothing American art school student) but the interior is a nice step up from the 3er. How much extra money has BMW spent to make Bangle design more appealing?
BMW is still tweaking their designs.

I assume this will cost about $28K.

  10. to each his own, i suppose
i hate it, it looks like an old 3-series post-collision

28K for this? i’d buy a miata instead

  11. the 1-series hatch is actually my favorite bangle bimmer due to the flared surfaces being more appropriate on a smaller car. however, it doesn’t fare nearly as well on the coupe because the short length of the car contributes to the awkward transition from the roofline to the stubby trunk. and i’ll agree with the posts about the awful, saggy rear end and misshapen taillights (they have it right with the X5). bring over the hatch!

but i do like the interior. it looks more cohesive and put-together than other bimmer interiors with their jarring angles and placement.

  12. If you look at an older Hyundai Elantra 1991-1995 picture, they look like the tail lights from that car.

  13. I don’t know why but I thought that the rear looks somewhat like a shrunken Aston Martin Vanquish.

  14. BMW has come out with nice exterior designs lately but the interior of most of the cars they sell these days unfortunately look like 90’s Chevys. I would not pay the money they charge for a 1 series, 3 series or 5 series based on how cheap it looks on the inside.
