A sportier AWD Susuki SX4 sedan

Last Updated:

Looks like Suzuki might be thinking about offering a much more powerful version of their new sedan based on the SX4.
Not sure what the engine would be. But it would be positioned as a smaller and cheaper alternative to the Evo and WRX.

They might actually get some customers who are turned off by the new Subarus.

  1. It looks tight. This has always been a very attractive car from suzuki. Although, i wouldnt consider buying this model with that giant and unnesscary spoiler on the back. It looks rediculous.

  2. Hmmmm. I know the base sedan will have the 143HP, FWD.
This? I dunno. I think the most HP in a Suzuki Car to date was the Aerio(IIRC) a few years back, 155HP I-4? I know the Now Gone(except for a few left over 06) Verona had a V6 155HP.

Suzuki, since GM has sold 17% stake, out of 20%, has been trying harder than ever, it seems?

Who knows? Probably something we’ll see at the September auto show from Turin(correct?).

    Could be interesting, and with a 7/100K warranty(vs what, 5/60 at Subaru?)…

I agree…drop the BIG “wing” on the rear!
Do they need a hood scoop?

  3. About time!!!!
I was having second dounts about the sedan until this came along. If it is more then just a Vince tale, Suzuki will cash in big time.

  4. Yes, I don’t like the new WRX that much. But I will take it any day over a suzuki. And this thing is simply ugly!!!

  5. This would be nioce. I think the whole package is just fine. If they can keep it just at the right price. this could be great competition for the EVO and the WRX.

  6. Im feeling this car, But how can it compete with a EVO or WRX? You cant compare three cars where ones going to be 15k-19k and the other two are pushing 40k for a new model. The new evo is 0-60 in 4.8 seconds with a turbo charged engine with 291 horsepower and 300 Lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. And im assuming that since your talking about the EVO your talking about the best WRX to so… The WRX Sti is 0-60 in 5.3 seconds Turbo charged engine at 305 power and 290 Lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm With a selling cost 44k. The EVO and WRX are both true rally cars, where as this Suzuki merely seems based off one without the power to make it really fly. From what ive seen on suzukis website there is no powerhouse suzuki sx4 sedan or otherwise that could even compare to the EVO or WRX and even if they did make a super rally car for the everyday consumer the EVO and WRX are the best of the best… Heck doesnt it even say the EVO has won like 6 times in a row on its commercials? I havent checked but still.

But this suzuki is looking wicked sick, and a highly “pimp-able” car without having to throw around alot of cheddah…
