2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

Last Updated:

That is a clean looking small SUV.
I really like the 2 part hatch. Where the lower section opens flat. Makes it really easy to load stuff.

With features like Bluetooth, Navigation and Keyless entry, it is one convenient package.
it might actually steal sales from the new and pricey RAV4.

We’ll know more when the announce prices, but it is looking good so far…

  1. It looks more attractive than Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV (current). It also backed by the longest warranty. But the brand is still damaged by quality and financial issues. The Outlander is the best selling SUV in Japan, but I dun think it will outsell its rival in North America

  2. Good baby steps will save this franchise. The “looks” of this new Outlander are a baby step in the right direction.

That is a really clean design on the interior. I have to admit that I rather like it.

  3. This does look good. But I’m in agreement with mkk about the “hairs” on this brand. It’s going to take a lot more than this model no matter how good to make serious impact against their leading Japanese rivals.

  4. hopefully the outlander wont have the same fate the eclipse did. for such an interesting car, i thought that by now they would be everywhere. not so. but kudos to mitsubishi for keeping it simple this time. i would buy this car over a rav4 any day

  5. well the front and the body shape overall is a big improvement over the last one,
but the interior is really plain and if the hatch is close it looks exactly like an RX like basically copyed off close

    waiting for 07 CR-V

I dont really think this is a huge dent, but it will be another alternative

  6. It looks real nice. It looks more like an SUV than the old model (which looked more car like…to me atleast).

  7. The worst part of Mitsubishi is not that they build bad cars. Its just that it wants to compete with two best automakers, Honda and Toyota, head to head with too similar product. Just see how bad volkswagen and GM did when they do the same thing as Toyota, the lesson should be learned

    MKK, you’re right on :o)

In order to compete in today’s globalized market, companies must Differentiate or Die!

  9. I might be one of the few who doesn’t like it. It’s already out in New Zealand, and doesn’t look that much better in the metal. I don’t think people will trade in their RAVs in a hurry. Also, the Suzuki Grand Vitara is a steal down here, price-wise. However, I do find it looks nicer than its predecessor.

  10. Just wondering, but since when did the Rav 4 become “pricey”?

It looks nice, but the overall package I don’t think is enough to steal lots of sales from Toyota or Honda. The exterior has a mix of Toyota and Honda styling cues, and the interior has a big mix of cues from a variety of automakers. I would have rather liked to see an original Mitsubishi interior.

  11. This looks nice. I’d definitely choose it over the Toyota and Honda offerings. While the dash does look plain, it’s certainly not bad, and in fact I think it’s a bit tasteful.

  12. Looks good. I don’t think it looks like any Honda or Toyota. If anything, it looks like a Nissan with that kinked rear window and big C-pillar (which I think they ought to get rid of). The interior is nice, too. Mitsu dropped the ball on the grille, though; the grille looks very third-world or 90’s Japanese or like something that came off a Suzuki (no offense to Suzuki or anything). The rest of it looks good and original.

  13. the Outlander is great! i just have to get used to the sharp edged window for the 3rd row though…

to all the guys who view this page… please investigate on the upcoming 4th gen Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero within this year- i know that the US market wont have this by model year 2007… the rest of the world will… see the full year FY2005 pdf report on mitsubishi japan’s site… thanks

  14. here is a link for the mitsubishi “i” concept. truly one of the most unique cars of the 21st century.
